Extracurricular Activities at Brookwood Junior High School
According to the Montana State University Extension Service, students involved in extracurricular activities are more likely to become leaders, more willing to complete tasks, more willing to voice opinions, and more likely to graduate from high school and have annual incomes of more than $50,000. Extracurricular activities are also a good way to explore social, political and career interests. Brookwood Junior High School offers students the following extracurricular activities:
Choir
Band
Student Council
Cross Country
Basketball
Volleyball
Wrestling
Track
Peer Mediation
Early Act (service group)
Speech Team
Chess Club
Spanish Club
Reading Club
Talent Exhibition
Art Club
Through participation in extracurricular activities, students learn cooperation, time management, and teamwork. These activities can also help students meet new friends, discover hidden talents and learn about things outside their own environment. Brookwood Junior High School does not have try-outs or cuts for athletic teams or clubs. The goal is to have 100% participation in extracurricular activities so that all students will learn new skills, have a positive connection to school, and contribute positively to a team/club.
