Brookwood School District 167 is sponsoring Summer Activity Programs available to students who were in grades K-8 for the 2006-2007 school year. Participants must be residents/students of Brookwood School District 167. Yellow informational flyers and sign-up sheets were sent home with your student's third quarter grade reports. For more information on the programs or to request a replacement sign-up sheet, please call (708) 757-0886 between the hours of 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM.
Here are the activity offerings for this summer:
Open Gym @ Hickory Bend School
Grades 5 through 8
Monday through Thursday / 1:00 - 3:00 PM
June 11th to August 17th / Cost $25.00
Students participating in this activity will have the opportunity to utilize the gym for such activities as basketball, etc.
Fitness and Fun @ Longwood Elementary School
Grades 3 and 4
Monday through Thursday / 1:00 - 3:00 PM
June 11th to July 20th / Cost $25.00
Enjoy participating in sports, games, and activities this summer.
"It's All About Dancing" @ Hickory Bend School
Grades 5 through 8
Tuesday and Thursday/1:00-3:00 PM
Grades 2 through 4
Wednesday / 1:00 - 3:00 PM
June 19th to July 19th / Cost $25.00
This program will introduce students to Dance. Students will be introduced to many varieties of dancing, such as Hip Hop, "Pop Star", Disco, Sock Hop, Line Dance, as well as Aerobic dancing.
Techie's Club @ Hickory Bend School
Grades 5 through 8 / Limit of 25 students
Tuesday through Thursday / 1:00 - 3:00 PM
July 17th to August 2nd / Cost $25.00
Students will learn how to use digital cameras, create a photographic t-shirt, design and participate in a blog and enhance their keyboarding skills.
Creating Crafts @ Longwood School
Grades 2 through 4
Tuesday and Thursday / 1:00 - 2:00 PM
June 18th to July 19th / Cost $25.00
Tired of sitting around with nothing to do? Come and have some fun creating crafts. At the end of each session you will take home something new. All materials will be provided.
Golf @ Glenwoodie Golf Course
Grades 5 through 8/Limit of 24 students
Wednesday / 1:00 - 3:00 PM
June 13th to July 25th / Cost $60.00
Students will learn the fundamentals of the game of golf. Students will spend time on the course as well as in a classroom where instruction will take place. Lunch will be provided.
