2008 Summer Activity Programs

Brookwood School District 167 is sponsoring Summer Activity Programs available to students who were in grades K-8 for the 2007-2008 school year. Participants must be residents/students of Brookwood School District 167. Informational flyers and registration forms were sent home with your student's third quarter grade reports. You can also download a copy of the registration form here (please print and return to the address on the form). For more information on the programs or to request a replacement sign-up sheet, please call (708) 757-0886 between the hours of 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM.

Here are the activity offerings for this summer:

Open Gym - $25.00
Open Gym will meet at Brookwood Junior High from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m on Monday through Friday. This activity will begin on Monday, June 23, 2008 and will end on Wednesday, July 30, 2008. There will not be any activities the week of June 30, 2008. Grades – 5th through 8th grade. Students participating in this activity will have the opportunity to participate in various indoors sporting activities.

Tech Club - $25.00
Tech Club will meet at Brookwood Junior High from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday June 24th, Wednesday, June 25th, Thursday, June 26th, Tuesday, July 8th, Wednesday, July 9th, and Thursday, July 10th. This club will only meet 6 times. There will not be any activities the week of June 30, 2008. Grades – 4th through 8th. Students participating in this activity will practice their keyboarding skills, make a t-shirt and a pod cast.

FUN-damentals of Basketball - $25.00
FUN-damentals of Basketball will meet at Hickory Bend from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday. This activity will begin on Monday, June 23, 2008 and will end on Wednesday, July 30, 2008. There will not be any activities the week of June 30, 2008. Grades – 1st through 3rd Grade. Students participating in this activity will learn the fundamentals of basketball with skills, drills, and games.

Cooking Basics - $25.00
Cooking Basics will meet at Hickory Bend from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m every Tuesday and Wednesday. This activity will begin on Tuesday, June 24, 2008, and end on Wednesday, July 30, 2008. There will not be any activities the week of June 30, 2008. Grades 1st through 8th. Students participating in this activity will learn about safety in the kitchen, proper handling of cooking tools, in addition to cooking, eating and cleaning up. Aprons, measuring spoons, and recipe cards of each dish will be made.
