Brookwood Junior High School Celebrates a Successful Open House

Brookwood Jr. High’s Open House was held on September 15, 2009. We
had a 20% increase in turnout as compared to last year. Parents
attending this activity were able to meet all of their child’s
teachers. Parents followed their child’s schedule and received
information from teachers about the curriculum and school
programs/activities. During the evening, parents also received
information about our PBIS (positive behavioral interventions and
supports) program. Mr. Moore, our school social worker, gave a
presentation to parents about PBIS. Additionally, parents were able
to visit the book fair during the evening and purchase books for
their child. BJHS sponsors book fairs four times/year. All parents
were also able to make appointments for our Parent/Teacher
Conferences scheduled for November 5th. Reminders will be sent home
during the third week of October. Parent/teacher conferences take
place from 12:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Overall, this year’s Open House was a success!
