Art Exhibit at Glenwood-Lynwood Library
March is “Youth Art Month” and our Brookwood schools are participating in an art exhibit at the Glenwood-Lynwood Library commemorating the creative forces of our children. Brookwood Middle School’s entire fifth grade population contributed to a mural created in the style of African-American artist, Romare Bearden. Mr. Bearden was a collage artist who was influenced by jazz and its’ place in his life. Our mural shows buildings and city life complete with a variety of musicians doing their thing out on the sidewalks. This collage is a variety of very colorful papers put together and showing artistic ability as well as humor.
Thanks to Glenwood Junior Women’s Club for sponsoring this art show and inviting our school district to proudly show off our talented students’ art work.
