On Tuesday, October 27th, Brookwood Junior High School hosted the 2009 SSJHSA Cheerleading Clinic. 215 cheerleaders participated from James Hart, Parker, Memorial, Crete-Monee, Huth, Forest Trail, Columbia Central, Colin Powell and Brookwood. The junior high cheerleaders were divided into 13 groups and learned new cheers/chants, jumps and motion techniques taught by Varsity cheerleaders from both Homewood-Flossmoor High School and Bloom High School. Each group then performed one of the cheers they learned for the other groups. We enjoyed pizza and pop when finished cheering. All cheerleaders received a participation certificate and a hair bow made by the BJHS cheerleaders. Overall, the clinic was a success and everyone had a great time.
