reopening plan | 2021 - 2022

Brookwood School District 167's Reopening Plan was designed to safely resume full in-person learning for all students during the 2021-22 school year. The following document was developed in accordance with guidance from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH), and the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE).

On August 4th, Governor Pritzer mandated masks in all school buildings for students, staff, and visitors. Our current Reopening Plan includes universal masking for students and staff until the mandate/guidance is modified.

Possible E-Learning Preparation

As we return to school after winter break, Brookwood School District 167 may see a much higher number of student and staff absences. If the District cannot staff classrooms, the Superintendent would need to make the difficult decision to move to E-Learning until enough staff are available to return to the buildings.

Remote Learning Instructional Model

At the Board of Education Meeting on October 12th, 2020, the Board approved continuing the Remote Learning Instructional Model with a follow-up status review to be completed prior to the end of 2nd Quarter.

Since the coronavirus pandemic began, Brookwood School District 167 has been working on its Return-to-Learn Plan for Reopening Schools the 2020-21 school year. The district prepared educational plans and operational protocols, based on guidance from the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE), the Illinois Department of Health (IDPH) and the state’s five-phase reopening plan, Restore Illinois.
