Dear Brookwood School District 167 Families and Staff:
School will be CLOSED on Thursday, January 8, 2015 due to dangerous wind chill factors.
Tomorrow morning will be the coldest day with temperatures about -5 to -13 coupled with windchill’s in the -22 to -30 range.
The windchill advisory goes on until noon tomorrow and then temperatures will start to rise during the day topping out around 8 to 12 degrees in the late afternoon. Without a doubt, tomorrow morning may feel worse than it did this morning and due to having at least 471 students who walk to school, in addition to riders it is best to close school for another day to ensure student safety.
Therefore, all principals, central office, school secretaries, school clerks, contractual special services, and custodians are required to report to work on tomorrow, Thursday, January 8, 2015, at your regularly scheduled hours. Staff members that are on the PERA Committee should report to school as planned for the Student Growth Model Workshop at 8:00 a.m. in the Board Room.
We appreciate your cooperation and understanding. Stay warm and most importantly, stay Safe.
Best,
Dr. Valorie Moore
Brookwood School District 167
