[Cyberbullying] has reached epidemic proportions. It causes more than hurt feelings. Every year we lose precious children to taunts. As adults, we need to make sure we guide our children in their cyber-life as well as in real-life.
- Check in with your kids: Ask them if they know someone who has been cyberbullied. That question can open the door to a conversation about them or someone they know
- Code of conduct: Instruct your child to never write something that they would not tell the person in their presence
- Make sure you set and follow strict guidelines: Make sure your children understand that if they [EVER] contribute to cyberbullying all technology privileges (cell/computer) will be taken away
- Instruct (and remind) your children that once something is written on the Internet, it is public [FOREVER]!
